Her ex-fiance Dan Sonko, who has been absent from social media for over a year, paid a glowing tribute to Winnie, moving mourners to tears.
"Our prayer was she would come out of this victorious, and I guess in God's own way, this is a form of victory because there is no more pain for her, but there is pain right here. I have nothing to say," he said, leaving mourners teary.
The father of two narrated how she and Winnie were there for each other, recalling the day she was diagnosed with cancer.
"I was engaged to Winnie in 2020. In 2021, we went through a lot of things. For those who know, I lost my mind, and she really stood with me. I recovered, and then in October 2021, we got the news. I remember sitting behind the mum when the doctor told us she had cancer. We walked the journey silently for a year, then when it started becoming hard, we went public in 2022. In 2023, I lost my mind again, but this time it was controlled," teary Sonko narrated.
Below is the video:
Dida's mother paid a touching tribute to her daughter, admitting that the loss was painful. The soft-spoken mother narrated her daughter's journey with cancer until she breathed her last.
The heartbroken mother narrated how her daughter fought the illness bravely, and while in hospital, she had a special request.
The loving and caring mother said she rushed home to take more clothes to change, and after returning, Dida told her about her special moment with God.
The actress's mother did not give up on her daughter, and on the fateful night, she recalled calling the doctors to do CPR on her. She recalled praying for an hour, only to be told Winnie had died.
Dida's mother said she couldn't believe her daughter was no more, noting that the actress was in so much pain.
