Mann has portrayed Mr. Brown in numerous Tyler Perry stage productions and plays over the years, including "Madea's Family Reunion" (2002), "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" (2002), "Madea's Class Reunion" (2003), "Meet the Browns" (2004), and "What's Done in the Dark" (2008). As many of Perry's productions shifted from being plays to the medium of film, Mann has been able to reach even greater audiences as Mr. Brown.
