In a landmark public-private partnership in the education sector, the University of Eldoret (UoE) and the European Business University (EBU) of Luxembourg have made official their cooperation.

The two learning institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will see them team up to offer online classes.

Speaking during the signing of the agreement, Belgium Ambassador to Kenya Peter Maddens said the partnership represents an exciting step towards strengthening education ties between Kenya and Luxembourg.

“With the rapid advancement in technology and the rise of digital learning programs, we have this incredible opportunity to bridge the geographical divide and bring world-class education to your doorstep which EBU is providing to Kenyan students," he added.

Maddens said the collaboration was not only about imparting knowledge but also fostering cultural change by creating a network of global citizens by engaging students worldwide.

The partnership will see UoE students gain a broader perspective on international business practices in enhancing their potential to excel in the global arena.

Why European Business University offers scholarships

It is worth noting that EBU offers scholarships to students.

The signed MoU online scholarship program through EBU and UoE will be open and accessible to all Kenyans at a lower cost.

For the certificate courses program, learners will only be required to pay KSh 3,475 from KSh 114,305, the amount charged without a scholarship.

For degree programs, learners will only pay KSh 77,209 instead of KSh 1,775,506 charged without a scholarship.

For master programs, instead of paying KSh 1,937,491, which is charged without a scholarship, students will only be required to part with Ksh 154,418 for Masters in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and KSh 138,976 for Master of Business Administration.

Inside EBU and UoE partnership

In a statement seen by TUKO.co.ke, the partnership will see the prestigious learning institution based in Wiltz city provide co-lecture opportunities with UOE.

Also in the deal, EBU, which is headed by a Kenyan, James Mulli, will provide full support of course material and content to the Eldoret-based institution.

The European University will also provide Virtual Learning Environment and Platform to their new Kenyan partner, enabling smooth online classes.

The cooperation will further see the two institutions jointly issue completion credentials to their graduates. EBU will enrol students in the orientation and technology training week.

Further, there will be no charges from EBU for the first full year of operation, save for operating costs.

Lastly, in the cooperation, EBU will use UOE's logo, symbols and name in promoting the certificate programme as an affiliate partner.
