The friend of a Kiambu groom who was found dead on the eve of his wedding has recalled their last conversation on WhatsApp.
Fredrick Gitau was to wed his lover on Saturday, August 26, but that would not materialise as his life was cut short a day before the event.
Taking to Facebook, Gitau's friend Adera Godfrey said a few days before the wedding, the Kiambu man texted him on WhatsApp to give him an official to the wedding.
"A few days ago, my friend, colleague minister, fellow young Theologian, and my brother minister Fred Gitau invited me to his wedding, which was supposed to take place today, 26th August 2023.

I apologised due to work commitments but promised to attend the reception and pay a visit after the honeymoon and before I travel back to the other side for studies," he narrated.
According to Adero, he texted Gitau on the night of Friday, August 25, but he did not get any response, and he figured the groom was busy with wedding preparations, unaware of his demise, which had already occurred.
"Freddie was found dead in his house on Friday. My prayers and thoughts are with the family and especially the fiancée Joyce Mwangi," he said.
What happened to Fred Gitau?
Saturday, August 26, should have been one of Gitau's best days, but his family and friends were mourning his death.
On the same Saturday, he was to tie the knot with Joyce Waithira, his long-time fiancée, in a Kahawa Sukari church.
Sources indicate he was found lying lifeless in his house on Friday. The cause of his death is yet to be established.
