A Somali family living in Homa Bay county can now breath a sigh of relief after their daughter, allegedly stolen from them by a househelp, was returned home safe and sound on Wednesday, August 2.
According to her uncle Jaffa Ismael, the lady was only hired on Tuesday, August 1, to help the parents raise the baby, and at face value, she seemed capable of the job.
"She came without a bag or anything else on her and was shown her sleeping quarters. There was another 15-year-old girl in the house, and the new househelp sent her to a supermarket far away to buy something," Jaffa told TUKO.co.ke.

When the teenager returned from the supermarket, she discovered the househelp had run away with the baby.
She sounded an alarm, and the baby's father came as quickly as possible; he drove to Migori and reported the matter to the police.
"The househelp was arrested at an M-Pesa shop after making a transaction. The lady, who spoke with a Tanzanian accent was accompanied by three other light-skinned women presumed to be from Tanzania," said Jaffa.
" People should only hire househelps who present their Identification cards (IDs). They should also present their next of kin and should also have a home," said Jaffa who has since learnt very important lessons.
The househelp maintained that she had gone to get her bag and she was not a baby thief.
In another story, nominated MCA Sharleen Wambui was shocked by the rude behaviour of her househelp, who returned home late after her off day.
Besides being rude, the young lady abruptly quit her job and insisted on leaving home at night, prompting Wambui to worry about her safety.
Netizens on Facebook advised Wambui to let the househelp go but ensure safe departure and documentation of payment.
