Kibera singer Stivo Simple Boy has embarked on a fresh journey on YouTube after alleging that his former manager refused to give him access to his official accounts.

The singer, whose real name is Stephen Otieno, became a household name when he released his viral hit "Vijana Tuache Mihadarati" in 2019.

It not only earned him national recognition but also set him on a rollercoaster journey through the Kenyan music industry, one that has not been easy for him.

In the most recent development, Stivo had a bitter fallout with manager Vaga after accusing him of reneging on the contract they signed.

Vaga went ahead and issued a statement indicating that their contract had been terminated and he would give back the logins to the singer's accounts.

Over a month since the termination, Stivo laments that the former manager is yet to relinquish the accounts, which is dragging him behind.

Starting afresh

He exclusively told TUKO.co.ke that he has decided to let go of the original accounts and restart the journey afresh.

Stivo indicates that Vaga's condition for giving him back the logins was the he issues a public apology, something he was not willing to do.

"Watu wanifollow kwa account yangu mpya na wasubscribe kwa YouTube yangu najiita Stevo Simple Boy 1" (Fans should follow me on the new account and subscribe to the new YouTube channel Stevo Simple Boy 1), he said.

The crooner added that he is already gearing up to release new music which will be shared on the new accounts.

Stivo suffering financially

During an earlier interview, the Freshi Barida songwriter complained that he was unable to pay rent nor feed himself yet that was the work of his manager.

He came forward to dispute that he was okay as stated in a video doing rounds on social media, explaining that the video was recorded under duress.

Stivo alleged that his manager threatened him minutes before the camera started rolling, forcing him to pretend all was okay when it wasn't.
