Amani National Congress (ANC) party members have resisted any plans to fold the party and join the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
At a past event in Bomet, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi hinted at folding the ANC ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In his address, Mudavadi acknowledged that UDA was the principal party in the Kenya Kwanza administration, adding that ANC was equally not a pushover.

Ahead of the 2027 polls, Mudavadi said his party will discuss its working relationship with UDA to strengthen the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He asked Kenyans to be patient during the talks and said he would make a major announcement in the future.
Mudavadi’s first earthquake was in 2022 when he decided to dump One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and join Ruto's camp.
During a meeting with delegates on Wednesday, April 10, ANC secretary general Omboko Milemba stated that the ANC was a very important party that should be dissolved.
The Emuhaya MP said the party would continue to provide alternative platforms for MPs seeking elective seats.
Milemba affirmed that the party would be in the market recruiting powerful candidates for seats ahead of the 2027 General Election.
"ANC will be a very important party and that is why we shall not fold the party, because this is the other baseline that will accommodate any other candidate here and there. We shall also be shopping for the best candidate," he said.
Earlier, ANC Director Political Affairs Omulo Junior explained that Musalia was misquoted when he said the ANC would cooperate with the ruling party.
Omulo stated that Musalia expressed the need to unite and support President William Ruto in delivering his agenda for the country.
The political strategist observed that if the ANC is dissolved in the unlikely event, then the same must happen to UDA so that they form a new political outfit.
Omulo warned that the ANC had a huge backing and that the party members would have to consent to such a decision.
