Former Gukena FM presenter Auntie Jemimah has opened up about motherhood.
During an interview with Parents Magazine, the mother of one described a mum as a student.
"A mother is a student because that little human being has taught me so much and she continues to teach me so much. But a mother is also an angel because you have been trusted with a life from conception inside you. 99% of parenthood is on the mother. Not even the father. The biggest role is played by the mother."
Auntie Jemimah revealed that she was super excited after learning of her first pregnancy and was shattered when she lost her baby.

She went to the hospital for 34 weeks only to learn that she was carrying a stillborn, which broke her.
"February 2021 was when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I was first excited and very scared because we had not planned. Kaliingia. I was so excited because it was a confirmation of so many things. I delivered a stillborn in the first pregnancy in 2021. I had the smoothest pregnancy. Physically I was okay until I got to 34 weeks and I went to hospital and they told me I had not fetal activity. I broke down. There were so many questions that were not answered."
The former Gukena FM presenter disclosed that she got pregnant three months after losing her baby, as advised by the doctor.
"It was a tough journey, took a break from work, went into healing, came back three months later conceives, we did not play. The doctor advised us that if we want to conceive again, we should try immediately since the birth hormones were active and it helps fill the void. The baby does not replace the other baby but it helps with the healing process."

In January, the radio host bid farewell to her colleagues and listeners.
Jemimah fought back the tears while thanking everyone who made her time at the station worthwhile.
The presenter thanked the kitchen staff, IT, and other departments for their help during their stay.
