Nairobi - Corruption allegations have rocked the National Assembly after the special committee probing the impeachment motion against Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi cleared him.
Bumula MP Jack Wamboka, who sponsored Linturi's impeachment motion, claimed the embattled CS had survived through bribery.
Addressing journalists outside parliament on Monday, May 13, the lawmaker claimed that there was evidence of corruption.

Flanked by Busia MP Catherine Omanyo and Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, Wamboka alleged the former was enticed with KSh 5 million to vote in favour of the CS.
The MP alleged that Omanyo turned down the offer, adding that she warned her colleagues about taking the money.
"You know, there have been allegations of money here. My sister Omanyo, she was offered KSh 5 million, she refused and said she'll stand with Kenyans. She even told those guys they were almost fighting in here and told them that money was cancer to them. It is public knowledge that these people have been walking around here eating money but we leave them to Kenyans," he stated.
The lawmaker put up a brave face after Linturi survived the motion, observing that it was clear Kenyans lacked confidence in the CS.
According to Wamboka, those who supported the motion spoke loudly, adding that 29 million Kenyans had taken a stand.
"149 Members of Parliament, we've done the math, they represent 29 million Kenyans, they've said Mithika Linturi isn't fit to be a minister; that is a vote of no confidence. Whatever Linturi does, Parliament doesn't have faith in him as the Minister of Agriculture. So for me, we've won," he added.
Earlier, the Bumula MP claimed that his life was in danger.
Wamboka disclosed that unmarked vehicles and strange individuals had been monitoring his movements since he moved the motion.
He added that he was forced to beef up his security team because of the fear for his life.
