Bomet - As Kenyans grapple with the devastating effects of flooding, a tragic accident occurred in the Tenwek area along the Silibwet-Olenguruone Highway on Thursday, May 9.
The Thursday, May 9, incident involved three vehicles: two cars and a lorry.
The lorry collided with the two cars, causing one car to veer off the road and plunge into the flooded Nyongores River at the Tenwek Bridge.

Kind-hearted drivers along the route stopped to assist in the rescue efforts for the victims aboard the cars.
Emergency responders, including the Chelymo Hospital ambulance, police officers, and the Bomet County Fire and Rescue team, swiftly arrived at the scene.
So far, two bodies have been recovered, while the search for an unknown number of victims continues.
Videos and photos shared online depict a crowd gathering in the area, witnessing the tragic incident unfold as the rescue mission progresses.
In another tragic story, a lorry with three passengers plunged into River Ena along the busy Embu Meru Highway.
The three, two gents and a lady escaped with injuries and were rushed to the nearby health facility for urgent attention.
The witnesses at the scene decried a lack of bumps on the road to control speeding motors.
