"We processed the scene and recovered the suspected murder weapon; a kitchen knife," said Chepalungu sub-county police commander Phanton Analo.
Law enforcement officers who are actively investigating the incident to bring justice to the grieving family have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who fled the scene following the altercation.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been transported to Longisa Referral Hospital mortuary for further examination and postmortem procedures.
This unfortunate event underscores the escalating issue of land disputes in most regions of the country, which has led to displacement and even loss of life.
In most cases, authorities have been calling for peaceful conflict resolution methods to avoid the occurrence of such tragedies.
In another tragic story, a Baringo man killed his 23-year-old brother after they disagreed on selling their grandmother's cow.
The area chief said he received a distress call from a colleague informing him of the incident but when he arrived at the homestead, one adult was already dead in a pool of blood.
Seretunin police said they discovered a club believed to have been used in committing the crime.
