The banker attached to the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) had disappeared after scaling 8,000 metres above the world's highest mountain.

While visiting the Sagarmatha National Park, he stepped out wearing a black tracksuit, a light blue jacket, and his backpack.
He liked to stay fit, and he enjoyed activities that got his body moving, like participating in races or walking marathons.
Kirui once bragged about participating in the Kiss The Rain race and noted the challenges he endured that motivated him to complete his journey.
Kirui was a man of the people if any of his tributes shared by those who know him are anything to go by.
Days before his death, Kirui took photos with his friends and praised them for the different unique things he knew about them. One of them was a lady he referred to as the first Kazakh woman.
He died doing what he loved the most and from his past photos, he started climbing mountains many years ago.
In 2020, during the Covid period, Kirui shared a photo of himself enjoying mountain climbing with his friends.
He was not only a banker but also a celebrated published author who was using his adventures to pen stories worth remembering.
While giving out signed copies to friends buying them, he ensured that he took photos with them.
Before ascending from Everest's base camp, the mountaineer noted the many setbacks he would likely face, which would hamper his climb.
Dubbing his post a 'lukewarm update,' the banker seemed cynical about the climb, and he explained why.
He initially expressed disgust at the lack of enthusiasm and days of inactivity at the base camp.
According to him, the activities there were not inspiring; they were eating, sleeping, watching the weather and a few nearby hikes.
