Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has highlighted his night after the accident involving Chavakali Boys' High School students along the Kakamega-Nairobi Highway.
Speaking during a press conference on Thursday, April 11, Murkomen cited that he was very upset he couldn't sleep the whole night after the accident.
"You know when I went to NTSA last week many people kept seeing the clip when I appeared to be in a foul mood and angry...I don't want to repeat that story because it makes me very emotional," Murkomen said.

He added that he has a child in high school and put himself in the shoes of the parents whose children never got home due to the accident.
"That could be my child for those of us who have children in high school. When people were talking about this issue like it was a joke, it was not a joke to me. My mind was wandering," he stated.
He further urged people to take responsibility in their hands to stop road accidents.
On April 1, an Easy Coach bus ferrying Chavakali Boys' High School students crashed along the Kakamega-Nairobi Highway, claiming the life of one and leaving 10 others severely injured.
According to reports, the students were travelling home for the end of term holiday before the tragic ordeal.
Nyanza Regional Traffic Commander Allan Mwangi took swift action by deploying police officers to nearby hospitals to assess the extent of injuries sustained by the students and monitor their health status.
