Motorists using the Nakuru-Eldoret Road have been advised to use an alternative route for their safety.
In a statement by the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA), a section of the said road has shown signs of collapsing.
KENHA, in turn, on Thursday, May 2, announced the closure of the road around Timboroa Market after morning heavy rains.

"KENHA regrets to notify the public of the closure of the Nakuru-Eldoret (A8) Road at Timboroa Market. This follows the destruction by storm water this morning which left a section of the road exhibiting signs of a possible collapse," KENHA stated.
The authority advised users to use the Timboroa diversion with caution for traffic to flow and avoid overlapping, to avoid causing unnecessary traffic.
"Motorists have been rerouted to diversions within the Timboroa area. All road users are requested to exercise caution, avoid overlapping, and follow directions from traffic marshals to ensure smooth flow of traffic," KENHA further stated.
KENHA said its directives to ensure efficient connectivity to facilitate the safe delivery of passage of goods and services.
On Wednesday, May 1 Kenya Urban Roads Authority announced the closure of major roads in the country's capital, after heavy rains on Tuesday night flooded the roads impassable.
Among the roads was the Thika Superhighway at the Kahawa Sukari section.
Earlier on KURA closed several roads in Nairobi after being marooned by floods.
