Kwale- Nineteen fishermen in the Vanga area in Lunga Lunga Constituency narrowly escaped death on Monday, May 20.
The fishermen's boat capsized after strong waves from the Indian Ocean hit it.
Kwale Police Commander Stephen Ng'etich said that the coastal guards rushed to the scene and rescued all the occupants in the boat.
As reported by Citizen Digital, Ng'etich said the fishermen have been urged to slow down activities for their safety until the ocean is safe.

"The boat capsized after strong winds hit it, but fortunately the coast guards around the ocean rushed to the scene and saved all the fishermen on board," Ng'etich said.
The incident comes barely a day after the Kenya Meteorological Department warned of continued heavy rains accompanied by strong winds in some parts of the country.
In a marine forecast shared by the weatherman on Tuesday, May 21, the Kenyan Coast will likely experience south-easterly winds, at 10-30 knots.
"As a result of tropical storm IALY, expect south-easterly winds at 10-30 knots over Kenya waters. Wave heights will range from 1.5-3.6m, and moderate to strong sea conditions. Small boats and crafts should avoid deep-sea areas," the weatherman advised.
While floods continue to ravage the country, the daring attempt from the fishermen came barely two weeks after a boat ferrying 12 passengers capsized in Lamu.
The boat developed mechanical problems after being hit by strong winds.
Similarly, all passengers on board were rescued, while only the pregnant woman sustained injuries from panic.
