Migori - Residents of Ulanda area are reeling in shock following the tragic death of a middle-aged man.
The man, a father, was reportedly struck to death by electricity on the evening of Wednesday, May 15.
Confirming the incident, Awendo sub-county police commander Mathias Pombo revealed the man was returning home when the tragedy unfolded.

A report by Citizen Digital indicated the deceased had just dropped his daughter at a nearby secondary school.
Pombo explained that an electricity pole on the power line with wires carrying live current in the area had previously fallen down.
According to the sub-county police boss, the man died on the spot when he came in contact with a live wire.
He added that efforts to resuscitate him after coming in contact with the wire were futile, as he died on the spot.
The sub-county police commander added that the deceased's body was moved to the local health facility's mortuary.
Pombo urged the public and the family of the deceased to stay calm as they continued with investigations into his demise.
In another tragic news on TUKO.co.ke, a 32-year-old woman and her seven-year-old son, were electrocuted to death while hanging out her clothes to dry.
The residents of Sofia village in Voi expressed their grief following the demise of the two.
The incident took place when the deceased’s husband was away and only came back at midday to find their lifeless bodies.
Some of the residents reported that the electrocution might have been from an illegal power connection line.
An elder in the village urged the people to hire professionals to connect their houses to electricity.
He encouraged them to ensure all the electricians are vetted and have seen their credentials before accepting their services.
