A British mountaineer and his guide who reached the summit of Mount Everest have been reported missing and presumed dead.
This comes days after a Kenyan climber, Cheruiyot Kirui died while attempting to scale up the peak of Mount Everest.
According to Fox News, the Briton identified as Daniel Paterson may have died in the mountain's 'death zone', an area on the mountain above 8000 metres, where low oxygen levels can cause impaired judgement and severe sickness.

His lover, Becks Woodhead, shared Paterson's tragedy on crowdfunding while celebrating his monumental achievement, strength and determination.
She said:
"On May 21st, at 4:40am, Daniel Paterson successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest. Tragically, during his descent, Daniel went missing, and there has been no contact or sighting of him since."
BBC had reported that Paterson, 39, and his guide Pastenji Sherpa, 23, were hit by falling ice as they descended when a cornice collapsed.
The two had been climbing with a group organised by 8K Expeditions, and they described Paterson as someone with uplifting positivity and strong determination.
Paterson's partner has so far raised KSh 22.3 million, which is close to the goal of raising KSh 25 million to rescue the mountaineer.
However, she updated the post and said that rescuing Paterson would be impossible as he had fallen into a spot that may make it impossible.
She said:
"It has become apparent that the position regarding the search operation has changed over the course of the weekend. We are desperate to bring Dan home, but rest assured we are exploring all options to ensure the donations are used wisely."
A video of Kirui discussing his plans to climb to the peak of Mt Everest recently emerged, just a day after his mission ended tragically.
In a video shared by @Justincasekenya, the young banker noted that he planned to get to the summit and out as fast as possible without supplemental oxygen.
He also shared the number of times he had climbed Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro, which motivated him to try the tallest mountain in the world.
