Some leaders stepped up to support affected residents by offering more than just accommodation, including assistance with food and other essential items.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Red Cross Society has been on the radar to help people affected by floods in most parts of the city.

In another account, a family in Mathare is still in shock following the loss of their four members in Mathare River during heavy rains that hit the city.

The chances of locating their bodies diminished due to a lack of advanced tools for the search.

Mathare, an informal settlement, has faced severe calamities as the rains persist in causing damages in many areas.
