In an extraordinary display of kindness, Nairobi businesswoman Lyn Gicharu has offered to host those affected by flooding.
Her kind act comes against the chaos caused by the recent flooding in the city, rendering many residents homeless and stranded.
Lyn, who runs an Airbnb christened Dublin Suites, told TUKO.co.ke that business is not always about making money but serving humanity.

That explains why the generous host extended invitations to ‘strangers’ seeking refuge, providing them a place to stay in her rental properties and home.
Her generous offer includes a promise that the guests may remain until the floodwaters recede and the situation in Nairobi stabilises.
Most of those she helped had taken to social media to express their alarm over their situations, after which she directed them to her apartments.
This act of compassion has not gone unnoticed, as grateful social media users praised her for her selfless actions.
Kami Mbaabu:
"I love you for the person you are. May the universe be always kind to you as you are to others. May the love you give find its way to your door. I'm so inspired by your kind acts this morning.
Shie Mwaura:
"Our daughter is a gem, such a beautiful soul this one. Very accommodating and kind."
Paul Captain:
"This daughter of ours is fantastic. God bless you, Lyn Gicharu. We are trying to unblock the main drainage."
As the city works tirelessly to contain the flooding and ensure the safety of its residents, stories like Lyn's provide a glimmer of hope and showcase the indomitable human spirit.
