Faith Kipyegon is set to compete in her first race since the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Kenyan superstar will return to Rome for the Golden Gala, the race where she broke the 1500m world record last year.

The 30-year-old won a silver and gold medal at the Paris Olympics, cementing her status as one of Kenya's greatest-ever sportspersons.

Kipyegon will lineup for the women's 1500m at the Rome Diamond League, where she set her first world record in the distance.

She clinched her third straight Olympic 1500m title in Paris, breaking her own Olympic record with 3:51.29. She also won a silver medal in the 5000m.

Competition stiffer in Rome Open?

At Rome, she will face Olympic silver medallist Jessica Hull, World indoor champion Freweyni Hailu and 10,000m silver medallist Nadia Battocletti of Italy.

On June 2 2023, Kipyegon clocked 3:49.11 to set a new world record in the 1500m and later lowered it to 3:49.04 on July 7 2024, in Paris.

The Kenyan is seeking to win her sixth Diamond Trophy in the final set for September in Brussels, per World Athletics.

Kipyegon to headline Athlos NYC event

TUKO.co.ke has also reported that Kipyegon will compete at the Athlos NYC event on September 26.

The event was created by Reddit co-founder and Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, to grow the women's game. It will be a women-only track event with six events.

Faith Kipyegon's chat with Tsegay

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Kipyegon opened up on her chat with Gudaf Tsegay after their tussle in the 5000m final in Paris.

The Kenyan said Tsegay knelt and apologised to her for the tussle, which led to Kipyegon's disqualification and reinstatement.

The Ethiopian participated in the 5000m, 1500m, and 10,000m and went home without a medal.
