Her grandmother, after whom she was named, succumbed to heart-related complications after learning about her (Mary's) demise.
"Mary's grandmother, after whom she was named, collapsed and died after learning about her demise. Right now, we are mourning two people in our family," said a family member.
As previously hinted, Mary died in August, days after taking up her domestic job in Qatar.
The mother of two who flew from Kenya in July was reportedly electrocuted to death, but her immediate family disputed the report.
They said they were not served with the comprehensive autopsy report, thus their resolve to have a fresh autopsy conducted.
Mary had worked for seven days at the time of her death.
Her distraught mother, Grace Awuonda, said the deceased had been the family's hope, having been the only one to have schooled up to the university level.
They said she was attracted to the Gulf by competitive salary.
Still in the sorrowful news of Kenyans dying in the Gulf, a family from Baringo county was recently left in utter devastation and sorrow after discovering that their daughter, who went to Saudi two years ago, died just a few months after arrival.
Achieng travelled to the Middle Eastern country in June 2022 for what she thought would be an exciting opportunity to earn an income and improve her life and that of her family.
However, her family recently learnt that Eunice died under mysterious circumstances in October of the same year, which brought to an end their apprehension for their daughter's safety.
The deceased's mother told TUKO.co.ke that the last time the family spoke to Eunice was in August 2022, and she distressfully told them that her life was in danger.
