Kericho Man Builds House For His Parents With Earnings From Cleaner's Job In Canada

Kericho, Kenya – Kiprop Evans, a young man from Kipkelion, oozes perseverance, ambition, and the power of dreams.

The 28-year-old told TUKO.co.ke that he was raised in a humble family of five siblings, which made life difficult.

How was Kiprop educated?

They depended on help from well-wishers and fundraisers to successfully go through school.

"My parents used to do casual jobs like picking coffee to earn a living, which wasn't enough to pay fees for all of us," he said.

After completing his Form Four education in 2020, he faced an uncertain future but was determined to carve out a path for himself.

His journey took him from his hometown to the bustling town of Kericho, where he sought out opportunities that would change his life forever.

What was Kiprop's first job?

Kiprop's first step towards independence was securing a job as a cashier at Naivas Supermarket in Kericho.

Despite the challenges of adjusting to living alone, he found a modest house in Nyagacho and began his new life with a clear focus on his goals.

Every month, he diligently saved some of his earnings, driven by a desire to build a better future.

Understanding the importance of skill development, he took a driving course, gaining valuable expertise that would later prove crucial in his journey.

How did Kiprop relocate to Canada?

After a year of hard work at Naivas, Kiprob contacted a friend, Josephine, who was living and working in Canada.

Recognizing Kiprop's determination, Josephine extended a life-changing invitation, offering to host him in Canada and even covering the cost of his flight.

In 2022, Kiprop arrived in Canada, where he quickly secured a job as a bank cleaner, earning KSh 187,000 per month.

He also took on a part-time role as a caregiver at a home for the elderly, adding an extra KSh 68,000 to his monthly earnings.

How is Kiprop giving back to community?

With this newfound financial stability, Kiprob was able to significantly improve his life and provide for his family back in Kenya.

Upon returning to Kenya for a well-deserved leave, Kiprop used his savings to fulfil dreams that once seemed distant.

He built a house for his parents and bought them a car, gestures that were met with immense gratitude and pride.

"To give back to the community for supporting my education, I currently sponsor three needy students who are in high school," he concluded.

In Kisii, singer Babu Gee Omusayansi recently achieved one of his lifelong dreams.

He finally managed to build a new house for his parents, upgrading them from the mud hut they had.
