Former Nairobi county governor Mike Sonko has encountered a high school classmate as he was running his errands.
The woman recognised his car and approached him. Initially, Sonko tried to conceal his identity to see if she truly knew him.
When he removed his face mask, which he claimed was to avoid contracting Mpox, she was thrilled to identify him. She reminded Sonko of unanswered texts from years ago.

"I saw your car and immediately recognised it. Do you remember me? We were classmates in high school. Oh my God, it's really you! It's been so long. I sent you a picture of me and my firstborn, but you didn’t reply. I'm thrilled to see you," she remarked.
After a pleasant conversation, the woman requested a job but was not comfortable with the offer to provide massage services to Sonko.

She then asked for financial help, mentioning that her daughter will soon be starting Form One.
To her surprise, Sonko gave her KSh 3,000 from a bundle of money, noting that he had many people needing support.
"Please leave me with something. My daughter is about to start Form One," she said.
"This KSh 3,000 should be enough for you. It's from wash-wash," Sonko replied.
They both parted ways happily and agreed to continue their conversation later.
"Please check my WhatsApp messages, and call me back when I flash you," she requested and the former county boss agreed to honour her wish.
Sonko, Karen Nyamu steal show at Kamba night
In other news, Sonko and Karen Nyamu were among hundreds of revellers who attended Kamba Night at the Carnivore restaurant in Nairobi.
Dressed in jeans and an orange top, Nyamu, who was standing on a chair, danced to various hits next to Sonko, who seemed to be enjoying the moment as well.
The nominated senator pulled off her lovely dance moves as revellers who were next to her recorded.
