"I have come across people in the LGBTQ community who are infected. Some have even texted me, disclosing clearly that they are HIV+, and they hit on me. I once received a message from a gay man who shared he was HIV+, adding he was in love with me.
I was left confused because I was looking for a lady, not a man, but someone of my gender came hitting on me," he shared.
The man from Athi River, Machakos county said those who made advances on him were serious about having a relationship with him.
"They offer to stay with me like my wife. I know little about that community, so that I wouldn't dwell much on that topic. So I would respond kindly and tell them I'm interested in ladies and not men," he shared.
In other news, a Nairobi woman living with HIV shared her struggles.
Violet Mukabana candidly shared her challenges, emphasising that taking ARVs daily for the rest of her life was no easy feat.
"I love my life, and I feel blessed, and I don't just publicise my HIV status; I want other people infected with the virus to stop living in shame like they did something wrong.
I want them to be comfortable in their skin. Yet, I urge the youth who are sexually active to please use protective measures. I make it fun, but taking ARVs daily is difficult," she said.
