In an anonymous message sent to TikTok user @mystery_madam, a lady narrated how her husband had asked her to quit her job as a show of loyalty.

According to her, both she and her husband were employed by the same company.

However, her husband faced performance issues a few months ago and was let go from his position.

Since then, he has struggled to secure another job, leaving the couple in financial distress.

However, instead of trying to solve their predicament, the man turned to his wife and asked her to quit her job as a show of loyalty.

The request left the lady baffled and torn between her commitment to her marriage and her professional aspirations.

Consequently, the lady confided in her mother-in-law, hoping for a solution.

The older woman asked her to give her entire salary to the man.

Believing this act would prove her loyalty beyond doubt, the lady complied.

However, her husband’s reaction surprised her. He accused her of “eye service,” implying that her actions were insincere and merely for show.

The lady was at a loss for words and turned to her mother, who advised her to leave the house temporarily to give her husband some space.

However, the lady hesitated, fearing such a move would ruin her marriage.

"My husband and I work in the same office. It's a remote job, but they don't know we are married. They let him go for performance issues in January and he's been unable to get another job. Now, he's asking me to quit as a sign of loyalty. He has even called a family meeting. His mother advised me to give him all my salary last month, which I did, but he got angry and said it's eye service. My mum said I should come home and give him space, but I'm worried I may ruin my home. I'm so confused," she wrote.
