He highlighted that the event, set during the festive season, will engage young people and help deter crime associated with idle time.
"This tournament aims to bring the youth of Kakamega together through talent. Also, since it is in December, a lot of youth are idle and may indulge themselves in crime. This tournament will keep them busy," said Washika.
Despite the positive impact of the initiative, Washika is facing financial challenges.
He has called on potential sponsors to support the tournament, aiming to enhance the event and contribute to the betterment of the county.
In other news, Washika, who has been at the forefront of championing quality healthcare, was fulfilled after various hospitals in the county received medical supplies.
The youthful leader had joined other youths in demonstrating against the deteriorating situation of hospitals that saw many die in what they termed as incompetent doctors.
After receiving the news, he thanked the chief officer of health after the Kakamega County Referral Hospital received medicine worth KSh 34 million.
